IISER Kolkata Recruitment 2014 Research And Assistant Posts 

Indian Institute for Science Education and Research IISER Kolkata has invited applications for the recruitment of Research Associate,Research Fellow,Project Assistant and Technical Assistant Posts.All the canidates who are willing to join hands with IISER can apply for the posts notified by them.

Positions available in the area of plant genomics and stress biology

Name of the post and Pay Scale:

Research Associate:
Candidates can expect a Pay Scale of RS 22000-32000 per month.
Research Fellow:
Candidates can expect a Pay Scale of RS 16000-18000 per month.
Project Assistant:
Candidates can expect a Pay Scale of RS 10000-14000 per month.
Technical Assistant:
Candidates can expect a Pay Scale of RS 8000 per month.

Computational Biology (CB) Research Posts 

Essential Qualification: M.Sc/B.Tech/M.Tech/Ph.D (or other suitable qualification) in discipline related to bioinformatics, computational biology, computer application (or equivalent)/ 'Advance Post-Graduate Diploma in Bioinformatics'. Proficiency in programming languages (such as Perl, C++) and/or statistics (proficient in R for example) is compulsory. 
Desirable Qualification:
Experience in the field of genomics e.g. microarray analysis, NGS, genome annotation, database development and management, software development, systems and network biology (or related fields) will be preferred.

Plant Signaling and Defense Regulation (PSD) Research Posts

Essential Qualification:
MSc/B.Tech/M.Tech/Ph.D (or suitable qualification) in discipline related to Plant Molecular Biology, Plant Genetics, Plant Breeding, Biotechnology, Plant Biochemistry, Plant Science, Botany or Agriculture with major in any area mentioned above (or equivalent) with sound knowledge of plant signaling networks. 
Desirable Qualification:
Candidates with experience in the area of genetic engineering, tissue culture, plant genomics, plant defense, molecular plant pathology, molecular plant defenses, analytical and plant biochemistry, proteomics, metabolomics, or related discipline will be preferred. Knowledge of statistics is desirable. Experience on wheat system and/or phytohormone signaling will be an added advantage.
